Week 10 continued:
December 1: Exodus 15.
He is the LORD Who Heals. After the Red Sea, Israel sang of God’s power and redemption. Yet only days later, at Marah, the water was bitter, and their praise turned to complaint. There, in the wilderness, God revealed Himself not only as Deliverer but as Healer. He sweetened the bitter waters and declared, “I am the LORD who heals you.” Healing was tied to trust and obedience. The same God who rescues also restores. He not only brings His people out — He mends what the wilderness exposes within them.
- Blanket colour: Pink
- Verse: Exodus 15:13; Exodus 15:26; Psalm 103
- Prayer point:
- God’s Attributes
Oh God, I sing this song with those who’ve gone before me. ‘Who is like you among the gods, O LORD— glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing great wonders? With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed. In Your might, you guide them to your sacred home’. May the children and the generations following come to sing this song together with us as we say together with all those who’ve gone before us in faith, that You LORD will reign forever and ever. Amen.
December 2: Exodus 16.
He is Provider. In the wilderness of Sin, hunger exposed Israel’s hearts. Though delivered, they longed for Egypt, remembering slavery as comfort. The LORD responded with provision, raining down manna — daily, measured, sufficient. Gathering required obedience and trust for tomorrow. God was teaching dependence, shaping their faith in seasons where security felt uncertain.
- Blanket colour: Pink
- Verse(s): Exodus 16:4, 28-29; Philippians 4:19; Lamentations 3:22–23
- Prayer point(s):
- Trusting God’s Daily Provision
Heavenly Father, thank You that You always see and provide, not in ways we always expect, but according to Your riches in glory. Forgive us, LORD, for the times we forget, murmur, and grumble, looking back at seasons of slavery as though they were freedom. Spirit, help us to obey and follow Your instructions, knowing that the Lord works everything out for good, for He is Goodness. In Christ’s name, Amen.
December 3: Exodus 17-18.
He is Yahweh Nissi, our Banner. As Israel fought Amalek under the LORD’s Banner, victory depended on Moses’ upheld hands. When he grew weary, Aaron and Hur faithfully supported him, and Israel prevailed. In chapter 18, we see the same calling to community, as shared leadership strengthened the people. Dependence and cooperation under God’s banner bring victory — a model for how we relate to and support one another in the body of Christ.
- Blanket colour: Blue
- Verse(s): Exodus 17:12-15, 18:15,24-26, Romans 12:4-5, 1 corinthians 12:12-13
- Prayer point(s):
- Relationships
Thank You, Jehovah Nissi, for being not only our Deliverer, but our Provider and Protector as well. Enable us each day to put on Your armour and go out willing to fight courageously and obediently with the sword of truth. Forgive us for the times we grumble or brush aside the help You send through others. Remind us, Lord, that believers are like the human body — each part made with purpose, working together and showing us how faithful servants of God ought to cooperate. Amen.
December 4: Exodus 19-20.
He is Qanna, Jealous. At Sinai, God called Israel His treasured possession, a kingdom of priests (Exodus 19:5). His jealousy is covenant love, guarding hearts for Himself. Though His holiness set boundaries around the mountain, Hebrews 4:14–16 reveals our Great High Priest. Through Christ we draw near with confidence — and are called to lead others into that same grace.
- Blanket colour: Blue
- Verses: Exodus 20:5; Exodus 19:12–13; Exodus 20:19; Hebrews 4:14–16
- Prayer point:
- Relationships
LORD, You tell us in Your Word that You are Qanna, not tolerating our affection for other gods. Forgive us, Father, when we place things and people in the position only You should hold. Help the children find truth in Christ, and so receive help in their times of need and temptation. Remind us, Lord, that You call us, as You did Israel, to serve as priests. May we take this role seriously and guide others to You through Christ, by the power of the Spirit. Amen.
December 5: Exodus 21.
He is the LORD of life. The LORD of life governs both justice and mercy. In Exodus 21:13, even in cases of loss, He provides refuge, showing that life is under His sovereign hand. Psalm 100:3 reminds us that we are His — created and sustained by Him. Every life bears His image and belongs to Him.
- Blanket colour: Blue
- Verses: Exodus 21:13, Psalm 100:3
- Prayer point:
- Relationships
LORD of life, our lives are a gift from You and belong to You. You have reminded us in Your Word that all people are created by You and bear Your image. Teach us to value and respect human life in our thoughts, words, and actions. May our relationships reflect Your holiness, mercy, and justice, as we honour You as the Sovereign God and gracious giver of life. Amen.
December 6: Exodus 22.
He is Just. The LORD is just in all His ways. His laws in Exodus 21 reveal a God who governs life with fairness and mercy, showing that justice and grace are inseparable. Psalm 100:3 reminds us we belong to Him, and Ephesians 2:4–7 shows that in Christ, God extends mercy and kindness to the undeserving. His justice shapes how we live and how we relate to others, calling us to reflect His grace in our relationships.
- Blanket colour: Blue
- Verses: Exodus 21:13, Psalm 100:3, Ephesians 4:7
- Prayer point:
- Relationships
Father, You care not only about our relationship with You, but also about our relationships with others. Teach us to act justly, treat others fairly, and speak up in times of injustice. As You reminded Israel to show kindness to foreigners because they too were once foreigners, remind us that we were once dead in sin before meeting Christ. Since grace has been given to us through Him, help both younger and older children — and us — to treat those who do not yet know You with compassion, fairness, and truth, reflecting Your mercy and kindness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Week 11:
December 7: Exodus 23-24.
He is a consuming fire. The glory of the LORD appeared like a consuming fire (Exodus 24:17), revealing His holy presence. Yet this fire is not only terrifying — it is purifying. Through Christ we are made holy once for all (Hebrews 10:10,14), but God’s holy fire continues to refine our obedience. His commands shape sincere love, justice, and reconciliation in daily life.
- Blanket colour: Purple
- Verses: Exodus 24:17, Matthew 5:23-24, Romans 12:9-21, Exodus 23:29-30, Hebrews 10:10,14
- Prayer point:
- Commands/ Words of wisdom
Father, You are compassionate, holy, and loving. You desire honesty, justice, and proper treatment of others without partiality. Help the children to be beacons of justice in an unjust world. Thank You that Christ has done all that is necessary to make us holy. Even though we belong to Christ and are made holy in Him, we do not always reflect that in our daily lives. By Your Spirit, motivate us to manifest the holiness we enjoy in Christ and to walk in faithful obedience to the commands You have given in Your Word. Amen.
December 8: Exodus 25.
In Exodus 25, the LORD speaks with careful detail about the Tabernacle, revealing that He is intentional and purposeful. Yet He also desires willing hearts (Exodus 25:2). God’s generosity in giving His Son (John 3:16) shapes ours. As we meditate on His Word, we learn that obedience and joyful giving flow from hearts transformed by grace.
- Blanket colour: Yellow
- Verses: Exodus 25:1-2, 2 Corinthians 9:7, John 3:16
- Prayer point:
- Meditation and Reflection
Father, as You instructed Moses about the offerings and the plans for the Tabernacle — some of which may not fully make sense to us — one truth stands clear: You are meticulous and purposeful. You also teach that giving should flow from a willing heart. Help us to be thoughtful and careful in our planning, and generous in our giving. Remind us that when we become joyful givers, we reflect You — the greatest Giver — who gave us Christ, the Bread of Life and the Light of the World. Amen.
December 9: Exodus 26-27.
He is present. The Tabernacle was Your dwelling place among Your people, designed both to reveal and to conceal Your presence. The continual lamp testified to His abiding presence (Exodus 27:20–21). When the veil was torn (Matthew 27:51), access was opened through Christ’s blood (Hebrews 9:12; 10:19–20). Now, by the Spirit, we are His dwelling place.
- Blanket colour: Orange
- Verses: Exodus 27:20-21, Matthew 27:51, Hebrews 9:12, 10:19-20, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17
- Prayer point:
- Salvation
Heavenly Father, thank You that through Christ the Most Holy Place is open to us. The Tabernacle was Your dwelling place among Your people, designed both to reveal and to conceal Your presence. Forgive us for forgetting that, as believers, we now carry Your presence here on earth. Draw us into deeper communion with You. As priests, help us bring light to those You call us to serve, through the power of Your Holy Spirit. Amen.
December 10: Exodus 28.
He Clothes for Glory. The priests were clothed “for glory and for beauty,” set apart to serve before the LORD. Their garments reflected calling, responsibility, and honour. In Christ, we too are a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:5,9). As we acknowledge Him in all our ways (Proverbs 3:6), our lives — not just our clothing — display His glory.
- Blanket colour: Blue
- Verses: Exodus 28:30, 1 Peter 2:5,9, Proverbs 3:6
- Prayer point:
- Relationships: Identity & Witness
LORD, the priests were clothed in garments for glory and for beauty. Help us to consider how we present ourselves and how we carry ourselves before others. As those called a royal priesthood, may our lives reflect dignity, humility, and holiness. Teach us to acknowledge You in all our ways, trusting You to direct our paths. May our conduct, speech, and choices honour You and point others to Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
December 11: Exodus 29.
He is the LORD our God. In Exodus 29, the LORD promises to dwell among His people and be their God. The sacrifices and consecration rituals pointed forward to Christ, who offered Himself as a pleasing aroma (Ephesians 5:2). God’s desire is not distant rule but covenant relationship — to dwell with His redeemed people.
- Blanket colour: Pink
- Verses: Exodus 29:43-46, Ephesians 5:2
- Prayer point:
- God’s character
Thank you LORD, for the privilege to read about these rituals that were all fulfilled in Christ. Enable the children through Your Spirit to set aside the flesh daily, renew our minds and walk in obedience and in the Spirit daily.
December 12: Exodus 30.
He is the LORD who hears our prayers. The altar of incense stood before the LORD as a symbol of continual prayer (Exodus 30:7–10). Scripture compares prayer to sweet-smelling incense rising before God (Psalm 141:2; Revelation 5:8; 8:3–4). Because of Christ’s finished atonement, we draw near freely. Prayer is not where sacrifice is made, but where redemption is enjoyed.
- Blanket colour: Green
- Verses: Exodus 30:7-10, Psalm 141:2, Revelation 5:8, 8:3-4, 1 Thessalonians 5:17.
- Prayer point:
- Prayer: Intercession
Father, prayer is not the place where sacrificial atonement is made; it is the place where we enjoy what Jesus accomplished on the cross. Thank You that through Him we may come before You freely. Enable the children — and us — to pray without ceasing, continually coming before You in humble petition and intercession. May our prayers rise like sweet-smelling incense before Your throne, pleasing to You and shaped by Your Spirit. Amen.
December 13: Exodus 31.
He is the LORD who makes us holy. He specifically called the craftsmen for building the Tabernacle, granting skill, ability, and knowledge for the sacred work. Every design, craft, and detail was Spirit-enabled. God’s work was accomplished not by human talent alone, but by divine empowerment. So it is with us — we serve not to earn holiness, but because His Spirit equips us to carry out what He commands.
- Blanket colour: Orange
- Verses: Exodus 31:3.
- Prayer point:
- Salvation: Law vs. grace
Heavenly Father, thank You for the abilities and gifts You have placed within each of us. Thank You that through Christ we have entered Your rest. There is no work of our hands that can save us. Forgive us for striving in our own strength, thinking we can earn anything from You. Help the children to understand this truth and to recognise their giftings, using them for Your glory. May their talents be anointed by Your Spirit and find their fullest expression in joyful service to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Week 12:
December 14: Exodus 32.
He sees us. Israel’s golden calf revealed hearts impatient and unwilling to trust when God seemed absent. Yet nothing was hidden from Him. The LORD sees both rebellion and faithfulness (1 Corinthians 10:5–7; Revelation 3:5). Obedience requires trust when expectations are unmet. He sees us — and calls us to steadfast devotion.
- Blanket colour: Purple
- Verses: Exodus 32, Revelation 3:5, 1 Corinthians 10:5-7
- Prayer point:
- Commands/ Wisdom: Obedience
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word, which shows that disobedience often begins when we expect You to act according to our timing and desires. Forgive us for impatience and unbelief. Grant that the children would develop hearts that trust and obey, even when obedience is costly. Give them wisdom and understanding. Help them remember that Christ is now our true Tabernacle — the place where we meet You. May their devotion be sincere, steadfast, and shaped by compassion for the lost. Amen.
December 15: Exodus 33-34.
He is Sovereign. When Moses pleaded, “Show me Your glory,” the LORD revealed His sovereign name — merciful and gracious, yet just (Exodus 34:6–7). His sovereignty is covenant faithfulness. Though sin carries consequences across generations, His mercy endures. In His glory, we see both justice and redeeming grace for families.
- Blanket colour: Blue
- Verses: Exodus 34:6-7,
- Prayer point:
- Relationships: God and Family
Sovereign LORD, You are merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love. We acknowledge that sin within families can wound deeply and echo across generations. Yet You remain just and faithful. Thank You for the blood of Jesus Christ that can wash, cleanse and, restore us.Enable the children, by Your Spirit, to know they are not defined by our failures or successes, but by Christ’s finished work. Teach us to confess and repent quickly, that fellowship with You — and harmony within our homes — may be restored. As Moses prayed, we also ask: show us Your glory. Create in us a holy dissatisfaction with shallow living. Reveal Your presence in our families so powerfully that we long for You above all else. Amen.
