The October 2025 Crochet Devotional Prayers is here! Welcome to the Seedtime Crochet Blanket, the first project in the 2025–27 Through the Bible CAL. From October 1 to March 29, we’ll crochet a simple moss stitch blanket while walking through daily devotions, discovering who God is, and lifting intentional prayers for the children and caregivers in our lives.

This CAL spans two years and four blankets, each reflecting a season from Genesis 8:22 — seedtime, harvest, winter, and summer. The colour scheme for each project mirrors its theme, and you’ll find plenty of inspiration on the Pinterest board I’ve prepared.

Each day’s devotional includes a Bible verse, prayer, and “He Is” statement to help us reflect on God’s character. To connect faith and creativity, every devotion is paired with a blanket colour reflection, reminding us of God’s presence not only in His Word but also in the work of our hands.

Furthermore, since this CAL is not only focused on reading the Bible but also on prayer for the children in our lives—whether birthed, adopted, nieces, nephews, grandkids, neighbour’s kids, or even a child God places on your heart—each prayer is centred on them and the caregivers who nurture them.

Daily Guide for October 2025 Crochet Devotional Prayers

Week 1:

October 1: Genesis 1.

He is the Creator and Beginner of all good things. God is the Creator of all that exists—He spoke life into being and formed humanity in His image. Everything He made is good, purposeful, and precious in His sight.

October 2: Genesis 2-3.

He is Master and faithful to His promises. God lovingly placed Adam and Eve in the garden to work, serve, and live under His care. Though sin entered the world, His faithfulness remained. Even when we fall short, He provides, protects, and guides us back to Himself in love and grace.

October 3: Genesis 4-5.

He sets the example for what is good and walks with you. God not only shows us what is good—He walks with us as we strive to do it. Just as Enoch walked faithfully with God, we are called to live in step with His Spirit, choosing righteousness over sin and trusting His presence every day.

October 4: Genesis 6-7.

He is grieved by sin yet calls us to obedience. God is not unfeeling—our sin breaks His heart. Yet even in our disobedience, His mercy makes a way for redemption. Like Noah, we are called to obey completely, walking in faith and trusting God’s Word as our sure foundation.

Week 2:

October 6: Genesis 10-11.

He is the Righteous Judge who lifts the humble. God alone decides how and when to lift us up. The story of Babel reminds us that pride leads to confusion, but humility draws us closer to His purpose. True greatness comes from walking in obedience, not self-exaltation.

October 7: Job 1-2.

He is Our Protector and Defender. Even when life feels hard or confusing, God remains our faithful Protector. Like Job, we can trust that nothing touches us without His permission. His protection surrounds us, and His love strengthens us through every trial.

October 8: Job 3-5.

He gives and He takes. Life brings both joy and sorrow, but God remains sovereign through it all. Even in loss, He calls us to trust His goodness and care for others with compassion and integrity. When we lean on Him, He gives strength to endure and grace to love well.

October 9: Job 6-7.

He is present in our suffering and tests us. God’s care is constant—He visits us each morning and watches over every moment of our lives. Even in suffering, His presence refines our faith and strengthens our hope. Trials are not signs of His absence but opportunities to grow in trust and endurance.

He does great things too wonderful to understand. God’s works are beyond our full understanding—yet His greatest act was sending Jesus to save us. Through Christ, we are made right with God, not by our deeds but by His grace. This truth brings peace and joy that no trial can take away.

October 11: Job 10-12.

He gives life and shows unfailing love. God’s wisdom and love are far beyond our understanding, yet He graciously shares His truth with us through His Word. When we seek Him, He gives discernment and teaches us how to live with compassion, faith, and love toward others.

Week 3:

October 12: Job 13-15.

He will call us to give an account. One day, we will all stand before God to give an account of our lives. But for those who trust in Christ, this truth brings hope, not fear. His sacrifice gives us eternal life and strength to live faithfully, doing good and holding fast to His promises.

October 13: Job 16-18.

He is our Witness and Advocate on High. When no one else seems to understand our pain, Jesus stands as our witness and advocate before God. He comforts us in every trial so that we, too, can offer true comfort to others—speaking truth in love and sharing His compassion with those who hurt.

October 14: Job 19-20.

He is our Redeemer Who gives us life. Even in deep pain, Job declared, “I know that my Redeemer lives.” Our Redeemer is alive today—restoring, strengthening, and breathing new life into us. His justice will prevail, and His life in us gives courage to stand firm against all evil.

October 15: Job 21-22.

He is our Treasure, more precious than silver. True riches are not found in wealth or success but in knowing and delighting in God. When we submit to Him and treasure His Word, He fills our hearts with peace and purpose. The one who regards God as their greatest treasure will never lack true joy.

He holds our destiny and shines with eternal glory. God’s power and glory are beyond measure—He hung the earth on nothing, calmed the seas, and lights the heavens with His radiance. Yet this mighty God also cares for each of us personally. Our destiny rests safely in His hands, and His light guides every step we take.

He Alone Knows the Way to True Wisdom. God is the source of all wisdom, and true understanding begins with reverence for Him. Wisdom is not found in riches or knowledge but in choosing what is right and turning away from evil. When we walk in His ways, our lives are filled with peace and purpose.

October 18: Job 30-31.

He Is Just and Weighs Our Hearts with Truth. God sees every heart and action with perfect justice. While people may misunderstand or accuse us, we can rest in His fair judgment. True integrity comes from walking rightly before Him, trusting that He knows the truth.

October 19: Job 32-33.

He Speaks Again and Again to Those Who Listen. God is always speaking—through His Word, through gentle whispers, and even through correction. But to hear Him, we must learn stillness, humility, and a heart of worship. Wisdom grows when we listen more than we speak.

Every detail of creation — from the stars to the instincts of animals — reflects His wisdom and care. Though our understanding is limited, His knowledge is perfect and His purposes are good.

October 23: Job 40-42.

He Is Sovereign Over All Things. When Job finally encountered God, he realised how little he truly understood. God’s wisdom and power extend over everything. Every child can rest in the truth that God rules over all things yet draws close to those who seek Him with humble hearts.

He Is to Be Worshipped. Abraham built altars wherever he went, not just to mark territory but to worship the God who called him. Worship is our acknowledgment that all blessings come from Him. Every child should learn that faith and obedience open the way to God’s lasting promises.

He is God Most High, Creator of Heaven and Earth. Abram’s faith showed that true riches aren’t found in possessions but in God Himself. He refused earthly gain because he trusted the Lord to provide. Contentment flows from faith — knowing that God Most High owns all things and gives what we need at the right time.

October 26: Genesis 16-17.

He Is El-Shaddai, God Almighty — the One Who Hears and Sees Us. God revealed Himself as El-Shaddai—the All-Sufficient, Almighty God—who both sees and hears. Just as He saw Hagar in her distress, He sees us in ours. His call to walk blamelessly reminds us that obedience and submission to His order bring blessing and fulfilment of His promises.

He Is Merciful. God’s mercy meets us where we are, even when we falter. His compassion does not excuse sin but draws us toward repentance and holiness. Just as Lot was rescued through mercy, every child is invited to trust in God’s grace and walk faithfully in His truth.

He Is El-Olam, the Eternal God. God is El-Olam—the Eternal God—unchanging, faithful, and steadfast. His promises never fail, no matter how much time passes. Just as He fulfilled His word to Sarah, He will do the same for every child who trusts in Him. His timing is perfect, and His faithfulness endures forever.

He Is Yahweh Yireh, the One Who Provides. God is Yahweh Yireh—the Lord who provides. His provision extends beyond physical needs to spiritual strength and faith. Just as Abraham trusted God even when tested, every child can learn that obedience is the truest form of worship. In every trial, God’s faithfulness provides a way through.

He Is LORD, the God of Heaven and Earth. The Lord, who governs heaven and earth, is also deeply involved in our daily lives. Just as He guided Abraham’s servant to Rebekah, He still directs our steps and relationships. Every child can trust God to lead them toward His perfect will, including the relationships that will honor and glorify Him.
