Welcome to the May 2026 Crochet Devotional for the Harvesttime Blanket in our 2025–27 Through the Bible Crochet Along. As we continue through this Harvesttime season, we journey deeper into the historical books of Scripture—watching how God continues to work through imperfect people, unexpected circumstances, and generations shaped by both faithfulness and failure.
Last month, we stepped into Harvesttime together and began seeing how the seeds planted during Seedtime slowly unfold into visible fruit. This month, we continue that journey—learning more about God’s mercy, justice, patience, and unwavering faithfulness even when His people wander.
The Harvesttime Blanket carries us through Judges and beyond, reminding us that spiritual growth is often gradual. Sometimes growth looks beautiful and abundant. Other times, it looks like returning to God again and again. Yet through every season, God remains steady.
Whether you’ve been crocheting along since Seedtime or you’re just joining us now, there is room for you here.
You do not have to catch up perfectly to belong.
This CAL has never been about rushing. It’s about walking prayerfully through Scripture—one stitch, one reading, one quiet moment at a time.
If you’re just getting started, these resources may help you along the way:
Each day’s devotional includes:
- a Bible verse(s) to meditate on,
- a theme that reminds us who God is,
- a prayer focus for the children and caregivers in our lives,
- and a blanket colour reflection to guide your stitches.
As we continue crocheting through Harvesttime, may this month remind us that God does not abandon the work of His hands. He patiently grows, restores, teaches, and leads us.

Daily Guide for May 2025 Crochet Devotional Prayers

Week 31 continued:
May 1: 1 Samuel 24
He is my Advocate. David could have cut more than Saul’s robe that day. Hurt often offers very convincing advice, but refusing to weave bitterness into our hearts—fruity behaviour—takes greater strength than revenge.
- Blanket Colour: Blue- Relationships. David chose mercy over revenge, showing us that relationships are shaped not only by what others do, but by how we respond.
- Verses: 1 Samuel 24:12-15, Matthew 7:16-20, Romans 12:21
- Prayer point(s):
- Strength to repay evil with good
- Wisdom to trust God as our Advocate instead of defending ourselves through sin
- Growth in the fruit that reveals Christ in us
- Healing for children and families caught in cycles of anger, retaliation, or harsh words.
May 2: Psalm 7, 27, 31
He is my Light, Refuge and Faithful Keeper. David’s prayers sound wonderfully human—afraid, hopeful, troubled, confident, then troubled again, reminding us that thankfully God never asks us to arrive emotionally ironed and folded.
- Blanket Colour: Green. Protection & Spiritual Warfare
These psalms are full of hiding places, rescue prayers, courage, and confidence in God’s protection. - Verse(s): Psalm 7:17, Psalm 27:1 & 10, Psalm 31:1–2
- Prayer point(s):
- Courage to wait on the Lord in uncertain seasons
- Confidence in God’s protection and guidance
- Comfort for children and caregivers who feel abandoned, anxious, or afraid
- Strength to keep trusting when answers seem delayed
- Deeper assurance that God receives and keeps us safely in His hands
Week 32:
May 3: Psalm 34, 52, 56, 120, 140
He Is Faithful, Just, and Worthy of Our Trust. David not only brought problems to God; he returned with thanksgiving too. Asking God to handle enemies feels natural; remembering to pray for them is where things get interesting.
- Blanket Colour: Green — Protection & Spiritual Warfare. These psalms remind us that God protects, guides, and fights for His people while teaching us to respond differently from the world around us.
- Focus Verse(s): Psalm 34:1–3, 11–14; Psalm 52:5–8; Psalm 56:9–11; Psalm 120:6; Psalm 140:12–13
- Prayer Points:
- Faithfulness in both prayer and thanksgiving
- Wisdom to fear the Lord through daily obedience
- Courage to trust God when surrounded by dishonest or harmful people
- Healing for children and families affected by harsh words, conflict, or hostility
- Grace to pray for enemies instead of becoming consumed by bitterness
